Personalized, trauma-informed, accessible therapy
welcome
Hello, I’m Alyssa…
A blend of study in sociology, psychology, and social work informs my person-in-environment approach to therapy. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Applied Sociology from Texas State University and a Master of Social Work from the University of Texas at Arlington.
Throughout my eclectic experiences in social services and mental health, my passion for mental health education and access has remained steadfast. From facilitating a school-based mentoring program for at-risk youth to promoting spiritual discovery in a church youth ministry to providing crisis intervention to survivors of violent crimes, I keep client self-determination and growth at the center of services.
I am a Licensed Social Work Associate-Independent Clinical (LSWAIC) and practice under the supervision of Joy Meeks, LICSW.
What to Expect
I believe we are each the expert of our own stories. By sharing my knowledge and observations, I guide clients to tap into the wisdom and skills already within them. My clients have regular opportunities to self-evaluate their anxiety and depression levels as well as the effectiveness of the therapeutic relationship, which is the foundation of successful counseling. I believe our thoughts, feelings, and actions influence each other and work with clients to identify unhelpful thought patterns, replace them with life-giving truth, and develop personalized coping skills that really work.
Insurance
I am in-network for Aetna, Cigna, Cigna EAP, Kaiser Permanente, Kaiser Permanente Northwest, United Healthcare, and United Healthcare EAP. I can also see out-of-network clients at my private pay rate of $100 per session.
